Default hpop destroyed

Well first time for me. I double triple and even quadruple checked my high.pressure system to no avail. She died on me yet again. Towed in no pressure ipr cycles fine no air leak tore it apart screen on ipr is beautiful. Removed high pressure pump cover to find the back of the hpop blown out and the pump shaft ground into the housing. So a new pump is needed. Where is a good place to get one I'm so tempted to do a 12 valve swap I really don't figure another grand is worth it. This month a thousand next month who knows. What's your guys take???

Was that on your 05? or another truck. ford dealer for an 05 and up truck, of it is an 03 or04 then I would go with a pump from DieselSite.

I know the feeling I have been fighting with my truck for 10 wks now takes up all your spare time and cash. It has been one thing after another. I think I had enough things done when the studs were done that I will be ok there. I am in to deep to turn back now. Trans studs drive shaft joints carrier and balanced egr gone hubs and ball joints. Don't really have that kind of cash to throw around anymore but need the power for towing and the price of a new one is not an option. Feel good that I think most of it is behind me. Good luck with your truck I know how you feel. What is the 12 valve swap?

Yeah mine is an 05. And 12 valve Cummins is looking brighter and brighter. Going to pull the oil pan and check for debris today. Then pull crank fully and low pressure pump to check for anything that may have went through the screen...... Oh and mako mad I've know the way your feeling. I put maybe 5000 kms a year on my truck but when she does have to work she does n.seems like she just costs me money. Ha ha. Well she's worth nothing to sell unless she runs. Or I could always trade her off for a v10 ha ha. I have a pump coming should be here just after Christmas. Brand new in box for 500 bones. Then the kings ransom I have to pay for each n every little o ring and gasket. This is going to be fun.

Kings ransom? I bought a complete top end gasket kit with all o-rings (minus headgaskets) for like $80 on ebay... Victor Reinz. (I wouldn't use their headgaskets if they were given to me, but the o-rings and such, no big deal).

How many miles on your 05? No matter what you put in, you're going to have issues. Putting a 12V in seems like a giant step backwards to me, and you might want to check your local laws. Not sure how it is across the border, but down here some states wont let you put an older engine in, only the same year or newer for emissions reasons. Good luck and hope you get her fixed up!

No emession laws up here she only has 192 kms on her 3200 hours. I have had her for 60 of them. Dealer was posed to put motor in but kept truck for 5 months then it's offa warranty then needed 3 pistons. So did them did heads put new ones on did egr delete along with studs art the same time. Did ipr and under vc o rings then 4 injectors then base oil pump another 4 injectors both high pressure manifolds. Fuel pump updated fpr........ And no where in this time has anything else been opened trans service and diffs but still original ball joints and tie rods did front seal service last year. Seems to me just the engine is costing more then the truck is worth. Have receipts for over 15000 in repairs in the last 5 year's and she needs more work now.

Sounds like the dealer is just taking him for a ride to me... bring it to a real powerstroke shop. I know the Canadian Rednecks are big 6.0 guys. I know NADP is up there too.

As far as the HPOP is concerned, how old is this one? I've always read the 05's were notoriously the worst, but nothing to really back that up. They're like $550 from the dealer... it's the only place I'd buy one. Not like you have any other options, everything else is just going to be a reman version of the Ford one. Ford parts come with a 12k mile/12 month warranty too.

well got my new pump in she fired right up. Flushed my coolant with vc9 and distilled water at the same time. restored and road tested great. thinking everything was great found my eot and ect was at about 50 degree delta. wowsers.. so replaced my oil cooler today. flushed again with vc9 and distilled water not much in there this time used elc and restored and road tested now have 30 degree delta WTF??? and to top it all off at 230 degrees eot truck wont start hot pulled both valve covers ran till 220 degrees that was as high as she would get without driving and then shut down and cycle the ipr and air check nothing spent 3 hours with a stethescope and the covers off. no leak and restarts fine.. at 240-250 eot only builds 340 psi icp.

the hpop is origional to the engine so about 3200 hrs and 190 000 kms i got a new one from the stealership for 950 bux and they may or may not give me my core due to the damage.

might try and see if i can get some nitrogen on my hands and get higher then my 120 psi air pressure.

My HPOP almost chewed the housing.....

im beginng to think that the high oil temp is probably what took out the pump and possibly my turbo 6 months ago. the shaft split in 2 and the turbie took off into the muffler..
