Default 06 ford 6.0

Hey I was looking around and found a ford 6.0 for sale at a dealership and kind of liked it. The salesman told me that with those ford 6.0s once you have the injectors gone through and the head gasket done those motors are about bulletproof. And it has had that stuff done and has about 138000 on it. I have been kind of sketchy about the 6.0s but if that stuff is true would that be a good deal? Thanks

i guess i don't plan on doing a whole lot of tunes to it cause it'll pry just be my farm truck. How much you think a guy will spend on a egr delete and oil cooler?

You can do it yourself. If your already pretty handy and can follow directions. Theres videos on youtube on how to do this. I had mine down when I did studs and hg.

Add a coolant filter and some gauges to that list.

Ask for the Oasis report from a Ford dealer, you'll need the VIN. It will tell you all of the warranty work done to it already. What year is the truck you're looking at? Depending on the year, there were a few updates done that you may want to budget for.

As for headgaskets... kind of a crap shoot, they could certainly blow again. The real fix is OEM gaskets, decked heads and ARP studs. There are more ways to do this job wrong than right however... If you plan on keeping it on stock tuning, you should be ok though. Most failures come from guys hot-rodding with hot tunes.

As for injectors... they're not really faulty so much as they just need good maintenance. Fuel pressure is key to injector life, as is good oil and OEM oil filters ONLY. Same goes for fuel filters, OEM or international units ONLY.
