Upgrades, tips, tricks, parts?
Ok so this weekend I'll be pulling the cab to do,
arp head studs w/oem head gaskets, new oil cooler and a egr delete.
I was just reading about the blue spring deal and I'll order that up from the dealer as well and install while im there.
I'll be using all factory gaskets for everything.
My questions is is they're anything else i should do for upgrades or reliability to the truck while im right there with the cab off??
The truck will get a sct custom tune from someone havent decided yet but nothing crazy just more performance and fuel mileage with reliability type stuff aka I'll be staying stock turbo and fuel injectors.
Thanks

You don't have the failure prone stc fitting but the turbo oil lines are a good idea, if money is no object then a nice Diesel SIte billet HPOP would give you years of use and you shouldn't ever have to dig back into the top end. Now would also be a great time to replace the water pump, alot easier to get to it with cab off.

Im a full fledge rookie here going to need more details....My dad is experienced he's the one helping me (diesel fleet mechanic) but they just replace oil coolers egr's and head bolts so he's not to versed with the upgrades and stuff like you guys are on here.
So why do these need updated, are they just direct replacements from ford or aftermarket? Where can I get them?
Money is an object! Lol but if certain things save me money down line they will definitely be considered though.
My hpop was just replaced a few thousand miles ago by the dealer before I bought the truck, at least That's what the guy said and I did verify with the dealer but ill have to double check tomorrow at what mileage exactly it was done at. If it was replaced that recently is it really worth it to do it again?
Thank you
I'll add sinisters coolant filter deal as well.

FYI the trucks a
2003 f350 single rear wheel 4x4
Turbo was replaced by dealer at 97,000 miles in 2007 truck has 198,000 now pretty sure it's still a 2003 turbo though guessing by the loud whistle out of my 4" straight pipe off stock downpipe ill double check the part number when we pull it out though (also thinking a 4" downpipe would be a good idea??)

I have 267k on my original HPOP so I woudn't worry about it then seeing as how it is newer. Again you don't have to worry about the STC fitting, that is only on 05 and up trucks. The updated oil supply line and oil drain tube for turbo are available from Ford dealer. They are a little bigger and have less kink in them so oil flows smoother and it will help extend the life of the turbo by allowing the oil to flow more freely and not burn in the turbo housing.

You can tell if the oil supply line has been updated, the factory one has a braided section, the updated one is a solid tube with no braided section in it
