Default Exhaust advive! Jet sound

So I am wanting do some exhaust work to a stock 2006 F250 w 6.0. I know at idle you can get a great jet sound from the exhaust and I am curious as how to get this. I am wanting the truck to still sound like a diesel and sound great and louder then stock when driving but would love to have as much of the jet sound as well. How do I get this? Thanks!

straight pipe, no muffler, no cat. Sounds like a jet at idle, sounds pretty good when you're on it, and when you're WOT and get up towards 4k rpms, it will make kittens cry. However the best part is once you're just cruising down the road it's pretty quiet again, doesn't really drone either.

Exactly what Mdub said. Id go 4" straight pipe. First thing I did to my truck when it was stock sounds like a jet. Or do the straight pipe and drop a 03 turbo in also.

Louder whistle. Not sure what exactly is different about never really looked. Im sure someone around here knows what the changed from the earlier turbos. Think its the number of blades on the wheel.

I believe it's the compressor side, but the number of blades that make the 2003 turbo scream. 2004 got an additional blade or two, same with 2005. At this point, the ******* were satisfied that it didn't scream so loud, so that change stayed through 2007.

With a straight exhaust (3.5 down tube to 4" straight pipe), mine goes from a scream to throaty V8 rumble after 11psi. When I am on the hammer, the distinctive 4V/V8 rasp is very apparent. Honestly, on the hammer, my 6.0 sounds like my buddy's 4V Cobra (minus the Whipple whine).

They sound a lot better than a constant fart.
