Default 2004 F250 TRANSMISSION PROBLEM

2004 F 250 6.0 4X4 Trans was slow to engage into gear, took to trans shop it showed low pressure, pressure solenoid was replaced corrected slow engagement into gear. Truck ran fine for two day with no problem, next day truck began to stall when coming to a stop. once at stop it would bog itself down. now once it is put into gear it will stall out engine die. put into 4 low get it rolling it will shift out fine. What could be the cause now. also no codes. thanks...

That's weird. Sounds like a torque converter issue I guess... not sure what else would cause that. I guess a sticky solenoid could be causing issues with the TC.

How many miles on the truck? Any mods? Last time if ever the trans fluid was flushed? What fluid is in there? How does it look? Any more info would certainly help here...

Welcome to DB!

no mods, no flush, fluid is and was full looks and smells good no burnt smell, 153.000 miles, shop wants to change wiring harness and another solenoid. Got me puzzled too.. Truck has never been driven hard and no mud.. It like a hydraulic stick, or converter locking up but once it starts moving it drives fine, getting it ti move is the problem.. once ya put it into drive its like an engine brake comes on..

You said no codes, what are you trying to read codes with. You'll likely need someone with a good scanner to hook up to it, if you haven't done so already.

No mods except exhaust i had a trans shop replace the first solenoid they also replaced the gear selector inside the trans and put merc v fluid in it and would not replace with sp so i did i dont know if that contributed to something coming apart or not but its steele in my pan not clutch material
