Late build date 06? Or have they been replaced under warranty already?

I don't think it realy matters because the ford HG are 20mm and come with dowls for both 18mm and 20mm if I am not mistaken. If you were going to get a replacement set of heads to save time then it would matter because injector hold downs are different for the years.

You have to buy the correct gaskets to match what heads you have on there. The dowel steps are so that you can use 18 or 20mm gaskets on an 18mm block. You can order 18 or 20mm gaskets. If you have 18mm heads, you can't use the 20mm gaskets... and Ford would have put a 20mm head on either truck if it was fixed under warranty. So, in theory a truck could have one 18mm head and one 20mm head, depending on what has happened during warranty work.

Well as i just found out that my truck was built 09/05 so I'm assuming that it was a late 2005 build and they called it a 2006. Does that make any sense? so that would also mean 18mm dowels

Correct. My 06 has a build date of 11/05 and it's 18mm heads. How long have you owned the truck? If you bought it used, go to Ford and have them run an Oasis, the Oasis will tell you all of the warranty work completed. If it had a head replaced under warranty they would have used a 20mm head.

Yes it does, you will just flip it around for the other head. The 2" hole for the chain will always face the rocker box.

I just wasn't sure if the bolt holes would mate up exact on the other side

Yep, just like the stock intake gaskets, you can use the gaskets on either side, just be sure the "tab" is facing up and toward the engine valley, same concept.

Does anyone have a Master Solution kit that they would recommend?
