Fresh motor oil would probably be too thick to do any good.
Used motor oil would probably be too broken down to do any good.

Either way, I think you would be making a mess of things in your fuel system. Injectors ain't cheap, ya know.

can you do it yes it will run you right down the road and you can get rid of your waste oil is it the best thing on the engine i dont think so...engineers work year after year to create these engines to run on diesel fuel not engine oil one reason why diesel is more then gas now is because of cleaner diesel for your engine to last longer i dont think waste oil is to clean

I am an alt fuel user in a 6.0, one of the very few. I run filter WVO though. I have come across quite a few people running what you're referring to, they call it "black diesel" or W85 sometimes. As it's 85% used motor oil and 15% GASOLINE. I, personally think they're crazy, but then I remember how many people told me I was crazy running used french fry oil in my truck too.

If you were to do it, the used stuff would need to be filtered very well. I still wouldn't recommend it, but if you look around you'll find guys who do use it. I know a few guys on PSN were doing it. The stuff smells horrid too.

Now Black Diesel I recognize. I have heard that before but never knew what it was. I've been told that it is fine in old mechanical injection diesels but not so much in these high speed/low drag EFI diesels. But allow me to follow that up with there was no conclusive proof provided.

Hell, some guys in my area have access to JP-8 (military grade jet fuel). While it makes my Top Gun aircraft scream through the air, I have no idea how well it would lube my injectors, therefore, I'm not that excited to try it, esp after just changing one.

Tanks250 on the other forums has used JP8 for a long time in his 6.0. He always claimed it never harmed anything and nothing was ever wrong, but then I stumbled on a thread of his claiming he had this fog of smoke everytime his truck idled, and his batteries and FICM were all good... Hmmmmm

As for the black diesel, I'm not sure how well it would work with diesel. The whole idea of cutting it with gas is that it actually helps the gunk settle out of it faster (settling is one of the best filtering methods, even for WVO), and it thins it out so it's easier to push through the fuel system. I'm not completely sold on it, but there are a few guys doing it successfully it seems. The smell has to be awful. At least my WVO smells good, and makes you hungry.

Does McDonald's have you sit in their parking lots with it idling?

I'm sure everyone that rides behind me going down the road is turning in when they find one!

Too bad I can't get their oil...

I was talking to a couple of former Nat'l Guard guys and they said switching the trucks back and forth between JP8 and diesel was causing stalling issues. The cause, when flipping back to diesel, the fuel filters would gum up. The de-icing and other aviation stuff in the JP8 appearently had a negative effect in the filter bowl when diesel was re-introduced. Swap filters and they were good to go.
