Default Cylinder head heat

Was talking to my mechanic the other day about doing n egr delete. H is a dodge man but can do anything. He said he read that the egr delete could cause higher cylinder head heat. Any one heard any draw backs to n egr delete. No emissions here in dalton. Jut hd my fumes under the hood fixed I posted about months ago turned out fuel filter housing was leaking. He noticed a small amount of coolant leaking out of oil cooler so I've decided it's def. time to bullet proof my 6.0 I love it.

It will run cooler by doing the delete, the cooler /if oil cooler was clogged/ could cause steam and that is what would cause air pockets and cause the heads to overheat. Deleting the EGR cooler is the best thing to do on these trucks.

Yeah definitely delete it, it should run better and cooler... with the EGR stuff in place, you're pumping hot exhaust right back into the intake...

Haven't done the delete but I am puting the funds together to do so. I asked my Ford dealer service manager if I should do a delete or upgrade. Without hesitation the response was "Do the delete!".
