Default ICP 03 6.0

I am planning on moving the ICP on our 03 6.0 from the rear of the HPOP to a machined fitting on one of the HP oil rails feeding the injectors.

[B]QUESTION: IS THE PRESSURE IN THE OIL RAIL JUST ABOUT WHAT THE ICP IS READING AT THE HPOP AND WILL THE STOCK ICP STILL DO THE JOB AT THAT LOCATION?????

It seems to me that pressure should be just about the same.

Default relocation of ICP, HPOPs and more

Thanks, MDub. Great info as usual. Had no idea that the factory HPOP was that weak. Gives me a lot to think over.
Cheers.

Yeah, lots of info to think over there... especially since there really are not many people running that, and are making big power just fine. Really makes you wonder though...

Default HPOP, ICP's etc

Yeh, sometimes for a guy like me who really just needs a dependable machine for his business, some of the postings start to seem like an "arms race". I have to marvel at the videos of people bragging with their incredible "burn outs": for me, that is like standing naked in a cold shower ripping up $100 dollar bills. Who can afford to burn out expensive rubber just for show?? Not me.

I have decided to leave the ICP where it is, even though it is a pain to change. The first one lasted nearly 200k miles and although we thought the second one was bad, it now appears that the truck had other "issues" and that the ICP was probably OK. I guess we'll go with the mantra "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Appreciate your wise counsel.
