im just curious as to what the sensitivity rage of divices that detect DTC's the reason im asking is the other day i had a number 7 injector balance code pop up on my edge cts moniter so i plugged my sct programmer in to change some tranny settings and the only code that poped on it was an egr low flow code or something light that changed my programmes around and plugged the cts back in and drove it a few hours later and the injector code hasnt poped back up is the injector going out or is the cts just over analizing things?

My buddies truck throws the same code on first start up of the day, after it reaches temp then if you clear it it is fine the rest of the day, the cause of this is called stiction. that is how to find which injector has the stiction problem.

I've found the SCT's are one of the best code readers. At least in comparison to the banks and bullydog stuff I've seen in the past. In one instance I remember my buddy using his bullydog triple dog or whatever... getting a U code. Kept saying something like it was losing connecting with the power window... plug in my SCT and it comes up with the same number but as a P code... dying FICM. His truck quit running down the road one day, FICM died, it was literally 1 week after I read codes for him haha

It's not so much as sensitivity as it is the programmed error codes in the firmware. The Diablo tuner has been said to have the greatest selection of PCM/FICM/TCM error codes.

Since he was talking about the CTS I was thinking hand held tuners. AE is definitely the go to setup for diagnosing and monitoring.

As posted before....just the nature of the firmware inside the tuner.
