Default 2007 6.0 wont start

I have a 2007 F250 with a 6.0 that is having issues starting. I have changed the fuel filters, batteries are new. Ford replaced the fuel pump and several injectors about seven months ago.
If the truck sits for an hour or longer it starts fine but if I drive somewhere, shut it down for a short time it will not start. I dont believe it is a problem with something overheating because I could start it and shut it off and then it wont start until I leave it sit for an hour. Not a starter issue. Motor cranks but not firing. Seems like fuel starvation but runs fine after started.

Most likely the snap to connect fitting off of the high pressure oil pump, very common in the 05+ trucks. The reason it starts easy cold is because the oil is cold and thick, so it can build pressure easy to fire the truck up. As you drive it and it heats up, oil thins out, leaks out of the small crack and pressure can't build. The PCM wants to see 525psi of high pressure oil to even fire the truck.

When you're cranking you're probably not getting any smoke out of the exhaust right?

The STC fitting is like $38 or something and if you're digging in to do it, I'd highly recommend doing the updated stand pipes and dummy plugs as well, they're about $120. They're all common leak points for the high pressure oil system and will cause these symptoms. The P/N's are posted around here, just do a quick search for them.

Also fill out your profile with a rough location if you want, it will help us locate shops/people who can help if need be. You don't have to, but it helps sometimes.

Welcome to DB!

Thanks Mdub
You were right on the money with your diagnosis. Took it into Ford thinking I was still under warranty with 91,000 miles. Was over five years though and they wanted $2,300.00 for the repairs. Called Manufacturer and told them about having to replace injectors, fuel pump, entire AC etc in the past and that this STC fitting seems to be a common defect. They called back a few days later and took care of everything but $100.00. Thanks again for the info.

Glad to hear you got it fixed! Ford should of just put new STC fittings in every 6.0 that came in their shop.
