I noticed a SLIGHTLY quicker spool up, but more importantly when I pull into a parking lot, the EGT's drop way quicker on the gauges with the full delete. The solid up-pipe makes sure all exhaust is getting directed at the turbo instead of scooping some for the intake. Blocking this path off is the best if you live in an area that doesn't require emissions testing IMO.

I am a newbie here and to trucks in general. I have an 03 Ford F350 6.0 and have deleted the Erg. Has anybody put a cummins engine in their Ford. I have heard from my mechanic that the 6.0 will be a problem child. I should have found him before I bought it I guess, but I love the Fords. I use it primarily to pull a 30 foot camper
thanks

I also was/am a newbie when it comes to diesels.
I have over 173,000 miles on my stock (except for coolant filter) 6.0 PSD and just now have been having some problems. There are guys that have more than that on their trucks with no problems.
Keep up good PM on the truck and use the proper lubricants and filters and that will help eliminate a lot of potential problems.
If you do have a problem you won't believe how good the help on this forum will be. Just read some of the post on what info that will be wanted before questions can be answered.
You already have an EGR delete - I would consider a coolant filter.

EGR delete or upgrade stuff
Thanks to all of you. Awesomely helpful.
The comment on a coolant filter is not mentioned much but my Ford diesel guru says that is really one of the less expensive but necessary additions. Reason: any small particles, sand from the block casting, rust or whatever circulates until it gets stuck in some of the small places like the oil cooler or EGR radiator fins. He says that all of the semi trucks use them. Takes a small spinoff filter just like all of the rest of our filter systems.
