Need Some Help! Possible Bad Injector?
Hey guys, I am new to the site and new to the Diesel world. I purcahsed my truck about 3 weeks ago and now I am having some issues.
A couple of days ago I was driving home from work and when I pulled up to a stop sign my truck started idling rough (shaking the entire truck). I drove on home and shut the truck off. The next morning I went out to start and noticed that it was cranking longer than I though it should before starting. Still very rough idle, but no CEL. On my way back hom that day I fonally got a CEL light. The code that the CEL is giving is a P0280 - Injector #7 Circuit High. I have replaced the batteries and the long crank issue is gone, but I am still having very rough running and keep getting the CEL after the light has been turned off with a scanner.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have already started looking at a replcement Injector but I am hoping it is something other than this right now.
Thanks

Normally I'd say start by testing the batteries, but you've already replaced them, good. I hope you did both too. Next step is to check the FICM out. You'll need an extra set of hands, but it's quite easy to do. The test procedure is at the top of the 6.0 page in the "sticky" section. Do that first. After that... then yeah you're looking at an injector replacement. #7 is on the passenger side, third one back. Not terribly hard to do. I would buy ONLY OEM FORD injector/s if you do end up needing one. They are the best IMO, and one of very few that can actually be trusted. They also carry a 12k miles/12month warranty.
