2005 ford f 350 6.0 no start
Been haveing some problems keeping my truck on the road ,It is a ford f 350 6.0 diesel , auto.168K, first time it broke was on the way home from the dealership were I bought it used , was going up a 20 mile hill and wanted to see what It would do ,run great bout 3/4 then wrench came on and truck went into what I would discribe as limp mode, after tempetures were high but normal for a hill after i crested the top truck worked it self out?, tested the ficm It was going down to 26 28 ,so I replaced half board, truck ran fine ,better then fine for 10 k on my way back from work It started running really rough , no peddle responce ,no power , tested the ficm in key off 0, key on injector buzz 48 - 48.3, crank 47.8/9.stayed between high47 and low 48 s , I would say it is a no start deffinitly a no run,the truck will start but is verry quite barley running and then putters out,I have tried scaning with obd11 and hade no code, (have auto enginuity on the way, probably another week)Unpluged icp no differents, load tested batteries , good, changed oil and fuel fillters with ford products, new oil ford brand, some times i get smoke sometimes I dont ,,white maybe gray, not black, cleaned egr valve and also had the dealership service guy look it over before I reinstalled it, haveing saying that can a ficm test out in these conditions and still be bad ,, any Ideals or do I have to wait for my ae package to arrive Thanks Maverick 357 regina sask can.

While it is true a FICM can test good but still be bad, I doubt that's your issue. That is VERY unlikely and I'd suspect it would at least stumble to life and idle like complete garbage. I doubt that's your issue. Without AE on hand, you might have to do a little more work with your hands. When you're cranking the truck, and if it fires, does the oil pressure gauge on the dash come up at all? If it does, I'd start by pulling the IPR valve, it is located behind the turbo, drivers side. It does need a special socket. You can make your own or buy one, but that's where I'd start.
It might also be a good idea to pull the fuel filter out of the housing on top of the engine and turn the key to see if it fills up with fuel. When you first turn the key can you hear/feel the fuel pump running?

Best bet if you have the ability is to check what your Oil PSI is. Thatll tell you alot. 6.0s run on oil. Its envolved in everything. Id put air to it as well and see if you have a leak somewhere thats keeping you oil psi from bein high enough. Check the IGR valve. Theres a screen inside it that if clogged or damaged will keep your oil psi from bein high enough

I also have an issue with crank no start with my E 350 diesel. I did have some smoke comming out when trying to start. I was able to start the engin on Jan. 03 this year-I let it run for a couple of hours. It will not start now and no smoke is comming out.
I have tried plugging it in to the block heater-charged batteries-used alittle ether-at first I did not hear the fuel pump run-now I think that I do=also have ohmed out the fuses and the relays, they check ok. My Ford Dealer experience with simular situations has been expensive. HELP ! ? D W C
