for so long ive been watching the idiot gauges trying to see if they move. it seems like they will let you know once youve cooked a HG. IMO, i agree. I mean its gotta be an electrical signal they receive, maybe its just a lack of sampling time? as not to spook the layman with constant fluxuation.

They move in very large increments. So for the needle to move to the next position, temp must go up 50* or something ridiculous, they basically are good for nothing. You really can't even call them a gauge, since they're not telling you anything haha.

The sensors are fine though, which is why a lot of guys just use pods that plug into the OBD port, they're just reading those factory sensors...
