05 f250 extended crank hot or cold
Hi I am pretty new to this so i will explain the best i can. I have a 05 6.0 with an extended crank hot or cold. worse when it is cold and very intermintent. I have to crank it 4 or 5 times when it is cold to get it to start and when it finally does it smokes like an sob. after it warms up it might start right back up one time and the next time crank for a long time then fire and purr like a kitten. the pickup has 124k on it and is all stock except for egr delete and 4 inch exhaust. this is what i know from my scan tool icp 1100 to 1400 when cranking, ficm 48.4 volts ficm sync yes cmp/ckp sync yes just installed a new cmp sensor if anyone has any ideas on this thing it would be great. Almost forgot i have already checked for harness chaffing none found. please help

How old are your batteries? Have them load tested FIRST before doing anything else. If one is dropping out, replace both of them. This is major with a 6.0. Next, test the FICM with a multi-meter. It needs to be tested key on engine off, cranking, and running. I've seen them pull 48V under two conditions and not the 3rd before. A multi-meter is the best way to do this. Start with this stuff and let us know.
When you're cranking and it's not starting, are you getting any smoke?
Also your ICP readings... is that desired or actual? You need to compare the two. You should watch IPR duty cycle too and let us know what that's doing.
