Oil isnt designed to be burned off in a dpf to keep nox levels down. your comparing two different systems. I just think its ridiculous that you need urea just to even be able to run the truck, its a second source of fuel as far as the engine see's it.

I understand that, but you more than likely aren't even using a full tank of DEF in between oil changes. I'm comparing service intervals. If it's that big of an issue, delete the DEF system off of it and tune it. I really think people make out the DEF system to be more of a hassle than it is. They sell it at almost every fuel station now, and if you're that worried about it, just put a gallon behind the seat or in the toolbox.
