Default laws in cal

some parts of cal are actually part of the united states where other parts are part of the old soviet block. Im in the "eastern" section so i have to keep my stuff appearing legal. just had it smogged this week. I asked the guy, what do you check for? he said, all emission stuff, we look for after market parts and check the exhaust. then they hook up to the main computer and check all the obd II stuff.

So, im not worried about running straight pipe as long as it has cut outs to put stuff back in, but that might be more hassel then i need. I will put on the egr cooler and the new oil cooler though. Would you computer through a code if you welded up the egr?

You can pull the EGR cooler and weld plates in the end of it so it will effectively block the EGR off completely and still appears stock from the outside, the tech will never know. That's the sneaky EGR delete, and just as effective as all the $300 kits out there, for pennies.

Dash doesnt need to be taken apart to fix this... Just drop your glove box...

Somtimes the A/C I think freezes and I have to turn just that off and then the air will blow strong after a min or 2, then I can turn the A/C back on. Any one heard of this?
My did somethuing similar a couple years ago. Eventually I figured out that the vacuum generator wasn't sucking hard enough. Once I came to that point it was plug and play easy to change.
