Repeated Turbo failures and unexplained codes
#11
What you say makes sense Mdub but I think I just made a big circle. When I started I thought I’d just clean it; then thought that if I take it apart to clean it I might as well install the Batmowheel; and then if I’m gonna do that it might make more sense to just buy the Stage 1 MTW. Then the SCT tuner to get more from the new turbo.
The truck is running like it usually does. The boost increases and decreases steadily depending on the load. The EOT and ECT are well within the 15 degree spread and I’ve got no error codes. Based on what I’ve learned here I’m not sure I have a problem that needs immediate attention. When the weather cools off a little I think I’ll do the cold air intake and cat back exhaust first, then go from there saving my pennies and collecting parts along the way. I’m thinking the EGR cooler, turbo, and tuner can wait a bit.
Thanks again for walking me through this. I’ve learned a lot about my truck in the process. Maybe the most important is that I need to drive it more.
