Default cutting out at acceleration

2005 6.0 powerstoke. Runs awsome idles great but it cuts out for a few seconds at acceleration then picks back up and runs fine. Also at times does this at cruseing speads for a few seconds then picks up and may run fine for days before it happens again.
I have not tryed anything as of yet

Need a little more info on the truck as far as mods and mileage. My first thought is dirty turbo, there is a cleaning procedure at the top of the 6.0 section, check it out, it's something you can do yourslf instead of paying a dealer to do.

have you ever cleaned the EGR valve? it could be crudded up and sticking causing it to hesitate on you. If it hasn't been out before it is ging to be very hrd to get it out, couldn't imagine how much crudd is going to be on there.
