does anyone have any measurements on a custom bumper. i like the looks of the road armor and iron bull bumpers and would like to fabricate one if any one has any measurements. for a 99 dodge ram

All you have to do is measure end to end on your factory bumper and then take your measurements on the mounts and you have everything you need to build around it. In the past I've pulled the bumper and mocked the mounts up out of cardboard so i knew everything would line up and then i could put the bumper back on while i was buildin.

Other then those two measurements everything is whatever you want it to be. How much you want it to wrap around the corners, how high up on the grill you want it to cover, how low beneath the mounts to want it to ride, it's all personal preferance.

I've got a Ranchhand bumper if there is some particular measurements you want I'd be glad to pull them from mine and send em off to ya. And be sure they mount a front receiver hitch in it for ya while they're buildin it. That's the biggest thing i miss from my old bumper that I built to this Ranch hand bumper that I bought. I'm hopin to get one in it this winter some time after things slow down some.

i've built several ranch hand style bumpers and one was on a 2000 dodge. one of the problems you will run into when you pull the bumper is the frame horns are about a foot below the grill if you make the mounts to high it's hard to cover the bottom withot looking bad. you will have to make your bumper brackets in a L-shape about 8" tall and then saddle the top out to set the pipe on. then you will have to turn your flat metal on its edge to fill in from the bumper to the grill. i hav some pix but i not sure how to put them on here. i could send them to your email if you want to see them
