Free Spin Hub kit Or Not??????
is it worth it.......truck is going to just be running for my transport company right now but later it will be my FULL TIME sled puller and will never be driven on the road (that will happen sometime around next summer at the earliest).......so is it worth it to go ahead and just swap over to lock outs or just put it back factory........the truck will see alot of highway driving......its got 226 on the clock and i just had a hub bearing fail so it would get 2 new unit bearings, u-joints and the rest of that stuff when my brother tears it down to fix it..........
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- its going to cost me just shy of 800 bucks to put everything back stock........so im going with the Dynatrac kit next month when i get paid.......im debating on wether or not to spend the 600 bucks to go with the 35 spline inners cause i will have to get a new carrier if i do.........i think i will hold off on them for now til i built it into a full blown pulling truck........ |
i have a customer who installed one on this truck and preported nearly 3 mpg gain but he is pretty easy on his truck too.
yeah the mileage thing is also another big factor in putting it on too......im looking at about 1000 bucks difference to get a setup thats 10X's stronger......its well worth it......
Tell us what u thik of it when u get it installed! Some pics too!
once i get paid for this month ill buy it.......
its well worth it...you will have less repairs later on and you will see better fuel economy.... go for it :ok1:
and once i do the 35 spline inner shafts and the ARB air locker i wont have to swap my axle over to a Ford Dana 60.....
Let us know how it works out.

I have the DynaTrac Kit. Well worth every penny. I put on about 65000 kms per year for work. I weigh in at 9800 pounds and am now getting about 20 mpg on average. The kit was good for a solid 3 mpg gain. I only wish that I had the option to upgrade to 35 spline shafts!
