Rat Rod Diesel Advice
Good day fine folks!
Planning my build for my 67 International Harvester rat rod truck, plan was to go with a 7.3 IDI however... that won't create any power so lets go another route. I'm looking for those who have knowledge in the Cummins motor and building on a budget... My goal would be approx 3-400hp and I'm looking for a mechanical motor which I believe is the 12v? I plan to spend about $8500 - $10,000 on the drive line (motor, transmission, drive shaft, rear end, suspension, brakes). What would I be looking at as far as motor and transmission for reliable yet fun power? Is 3-400 too much for being able to spin duallies & blow some smoke because let's face it, honestly I want a head turner - I want that "holy crap, that thing is sick look at that burn out and soot".... Call me a dick but it's going to be a car show/bar hopper.
