Im kinda leaning twards the 6.7 block and have my head worked over. Mill off the sick sure box and pity on a hellman intake. Another thing I was wondering about is coolant passages and head studs matching up on the 5.9 head with the 6.7 block also pushrod length. The cam for the 6.7 being the proper lift. ( valve to piston clearance) ill also be running a different cam. Just all the small things that most dont think of. Ill give you a call (dustin) youve obviously had experience with this conversion before. I appreciate all the advice

Hopfully your head is ok, the one we finished wed had dropped a valve and it cracked the head. If yours is usable we can mill the intake off and install a hellman side intake onto it. The 6.7 block has steam holes that the 06 head dosnt have but it still works. The lift on the cams is the same as well as the push rod length. Installing a different cam would wash out any differences anyway. I would do a 181/210 cam. Going with the 6.7 short block i would recommend changing the charger since you also are talking about larger injectors. The only way i would build that engine would be with ARP 625 head studs and 12v rods with A1 rod bolts for insurance.

ive already planned all of that except the 12v rods. i hate to tear in to a freshly rebuilt motor but then again theres no time like the present to do since it will be out of the truck. and ive already planned on a set of turbos id love to have a set of the WOP triples but wouldnt we all. i could buy a pretty decent truck for that kind of money. i beleve ive decided on a set of the s475 industrial injection twins. and there is no way in hell im putting the head back on it unless its fire ringed and studded. head and mains studded and a gorilla gurdle and the good rod bolts.

Sounds like a good plan. With twins on the 6.7 you for sure want to do 12v rods at least. Exactly which twin set from II are you looking at? The 6.7 can run a 475 as a single and we run 64/80 twins on 5.9s so you could very easy with the 6.7. Doing fire rings i would do the head and block. I belive that doing the head only is what leads to breaking the rings.

i beleve im just leaning twards going all out. Ive ran into this problem beforewith a friends truck it was a 07 but the same issue as mine. but his had been in a flood. {carfax said it was a clean title} but anyways im just trying to build something im never going to have to replace again. and im not dead set on the II turbos. im open to suggestions. their just kinda close to me and have a good reputation. oly problem is they wont answer the phone and if they do they talk to you for a few min ask for a call back number and never hear from them again. so like i said im open to suggestions.

We have our own turbos built to our specs. We do not do our own piping kits for the simple fact that we do not have time to do the fab work. We do how ever sell a few different piping kits depending on the project at hand. Turbo selection depends greatly on the horsepower goal you have in mind and any turbos that you want are only 2-3 days build time. If you would like to make a list of all the parts that you already have in mind and send to me either pm or email to torquedieselllc@gmail.com then i can take a look at it and see if there is anything i would add. Feel free to call or text me i may not answer but i will return your call within a couple hours.
