Default Looking for some $ figures

I've got a 97 f-350 with a powerstroke. I'm flirting with doing a 12 valve conversion if I can find a reasonably priced wrecked Dodge to steal it from. Other than buying the motor, can anyone who has actually done the swap give me a rough figure of what the swap cost you. I figure I can make a good chunk of change back by selling the powerstroke engine. Just trying to get my figures in line before I buy anything.
Thanks,
Dave

Alot depends on the transmission you use. If you use your Ford automatic, you'll spend about $3500 on the conversion parts (adapter, flex plate, starter, pcs controller etc).

If I were in your shoes I would use a Dodge stick. I just spent $3075 for everything to use my 5R110 and that included the quad mounts, tach bracket, power steering bracket and shipping from Autoworld.

I bought a 1997 Dodge 3500 C/C for $2600 and used engine,5-speed, and Dana 80 out of it for my swap into my 1997 F-350 CCLB. I fabbed the motor mounts and everything else I could. Depends on mods on cost. I quit counting $$$. Its what I wanted so it didn't really matter to me. The little things add up just as fast as the big things.

That sounds like a good deal. How many miles?

215,000 on clock but #6 piston was cracked and had 2 broken rings(heat). She had been run hot and heavy. It did have a newer reman NV4500 in it though.

I def want to go stick. Can't find anything in the way of a decent wrecked Dodge around these parts. It's along term project, I'm in no hurry.
