Well, I just ordered my 3-row radiator, should be here in a few days. In addition to mounting the radiator and oil/tranny coolers, I still have to get a fuel pump and hook it and a filter up. I have to buy an oil pressure sender and temp sensor and a temp controller for the electric fan. I also still have to finish bundling the wiring harness and splicing in the new circuits for glow plugs, and the cold start timing and throttle advance.

FTE, once you swap in your replacement motor, come on up and collect that dinner...

Well, after taking last weekend off to go to Scout camp with my son, I got to spend a couple of hours working on little stuff this week. I finished buttoning up both my shifters. Now once I hook my cooler lines to the tranny I'll be ready to put the crossmember/tranny support back in.

The radiator came in and I've started making the mods to fit it into place. I also picked up a hose clamping tool that uses stainless steel wire to allow you to "make your own" clamps, so now I just need some pressure hose to make up my PS and oil cooler lines.

The weather this weekend is supposed to be dry, so I'm taking Friday off and plan on hitting it hard both Friday AND Saturday. BTW FTE, I don't have a shop to work on this project. I'm doing this in my driveway under one of those "portable" (tarp) shelters...

Wish me luck...

Got the radiator supports all fabbed & welded in and the tranny cooler lines hooked up to the tranny & run up to the radiator today.

While I was working on that my 11 year old worked on putting the interior back together and got the seats back in.

Little by little its coming together...

Finished the radiator today.

Reinstalled the crossmember - shifters still work great.

Modified the stock electric (Oldsmobile) fan mounts and got the fan all installed.

My kid put the front console in.

So we're still picking away at it.

I'll probably post some more pictures tomorrow...

Default 700R4 question

This one's for Benzer1 and FTE.

On the 700R4 there are 2 fittings on the passenger side, one right above the other, for the tranny cooler lines. Which one is the out (to the cooler) and which is the in (return from the cooler)?

I want to hook things up so that the tranny fluid flows through the liquid to liquid cooler on the bottom of the radiator and THEN through the air to liquid secondary cooler mounted in front of the radiator - and not the other way 'round...

the bottom fitting is the out going to the cooler and the top one is the in coming from the cooler
