Another question for you: Which VIN code are you using? The one from the original frame and motor, or the one from the new frame.

The reason i ask is that the only reference to the original VIN that i can find is that it is the number stamped on the block and the same number stamped near the steering box on the frame. I am thinking about doing the frame swap as well (more likely from a f350 or similar) and wanted to know what problems might arise from doing this.

Either or..... all depends on where you live with inspection rules etc at your DMV

I have titles for both... I don't have any registered yet or have plates...

LOL

Just woke up from hibernation about a week ago here......

Nothing accomplished...(didn't touch the truck from december 2nd to march 24th....)

BUT...........................................

Well......

Back at it... and back at it strong.... were going to get this big pig fired up by the end of april so I can get the body on and start really moving in the right direction......

Arrived:
Entire 12V gasket set......

New Starter.... this is a big pig....

And I got into the motor to take a peak into the bottom end, place a 6-AN welded on oil drain bung to the oil pan for the engine driven 13.5 cfm air compressor... no surprises in the bottom of the oil pan either....

REALLY happy the way everything looked like on the bottom end... nice clean, no galling or scaring..... +10

Parts on the way:

ENTIRE Plumbing fittings (read $300 @ summit) for fuel, oil, coolant, O.B.A..... the works.... it'll be done with now....
New 14" Eaton Clutch...
An entire gasket set for the eaton 10 speed transmission
A new shift slave valve for the eaton trans
A new range cylinder for the eaton trans
New shift **** and misc. parts/seals/air lines for the eaton trans

10 lbs of grade 8 hardware.... this will be the last time stuff is bolted and loc-tite 'd together.....

Front motor mount finalized, side motor mounts will be staying marine as the motor mounts are rated for a 3400 lb motor.... my 6BT and eaton will be just fine.... shock loading will not 'ruin' these things like everyone is thinking.... (I brought them to work and 'played' with them in the hydraulic press..... there JUST fine...)

Mid-cross member on chassis removed and is being prepped for relocation....
LUK hydraulic pump at the local hydraulic shop being reworked for correct pressures/flow to mimick a saginaw steering pump (aka cut the pressure and flow in half)

Rebuilding the bendix tru-flo 550 13.5 cfm air compressor as new gaskets/seals/covers arrived late last week.......

GO time..... more to come
