freightliner with metal in pan! help plz!
I have a 97 freightliner 12v cummins and just found metal and a piece of plastic in my oil pan!
Did a front seal and timing correcting about a year ago, kdp fixed/good. nothing noticed on front gearing.
this past weekend i did a rear main seal and clutch and still had a oil leak at the back of the pan so i decided to regasket it. upon dropping found metal and plastic???
oil pressure, 15 psi oil pressure idle when hot and ran on highway, which has declined slowly since last year it was at 25psi hot.
crusing psi depending on rpm 45-50
only other thing is abnormal vibration, which i attributed to needing valve lashed again
i make a living with this truck, where should i start!

i posted this about two or so days ago on cumminsforum with not one single reply.
well today something big happened, while i was crossing a big bridge, i heard some baging and then lose of power. start smelling a burnt smell and limped it off the bridge. opened the hood to smoke pouring out of the oil fill cap and a little bit out of the crank case breather. while running it had a dead miss in it. i limped it home and it sure enough made it, smoothed out on the highway, im assuming from the increase oil pressure closing the rod or main gap that was missing. pulling the pan tomorrow.
how hard is it to rebuild these? what else do i need to pull to inspect? i have a decent amount of room to disassemble in the freightliner itself
