Thanks bluedieselram. I appreciate the welcome. What kind of mileage you get with those 4.11's?

Hey secondhandsmoke, aren't Brothers Dodge guys? I thought I heard that last year during deer season at the bar my cousins and I live at during hunting season. I heard that they'll work on non-Dodge stuff but bust balls on the Ford and GM guys. What kind of truck did that upstate guy have? But now that I think of it, we may not be talking about the same shop. I plan on doing the swap myself with the help of neighbors and friends. I have never taken anything this big on but there's only one way to learn, right? I like to take pride in doing the job myself and doing it correctly. And when you do the work yourself, you develop new skills. My dad drove tractor trailers for over twenty years so I'd love to get 'er done before he goes to the big truck stop in the sky. Then he can hear and see that Cummins rattling between my Ford's framerails because he always busts my balls because I don't like to keep things stock.

Thanks tiremann. The suburbs just south of Buffalo got hammered starting Wed. Dec. 1st until early on Friday Dec. 3rd. I am originally from Lackawanna which is a small city that borders Buffalo (remember the "Lackawanna Six"):jail::jail::jail::jail::jail::jail:? Lackawanna received damn near four feet of heavy, wet snow that was a pain in the n**s to plow. It was damn near impossible to plow but if there was any wind at all, we all would have been screwed. I must have got stuck at least eight times and had to dig myself out. That's never happened to me that many times before. There were loaders and dump trucks in our city for at least a week removing all the big piles to make room for future snow. All the side streets were done with loaders. :nshock:Crazy. The band of lake effect snow was 13 miles wide and did not move that far north or south which kept Lackawanna in the band at all times. It has snowed a few times since then but nothing near as bad. I live in the traditional snow belt area about 17 miles south of Buffalo and we received about 5 - 6 inches during that storm. We have received more than that since then but nothing crazy. Also been damn cold too. What kind of snow you guys been getting down there?

Thanks again to all of you for welcoming me in. Looks like a good bunch to be around.:downlow::pals::deal:

this is a vid of that truck with the cummins thats friends with brothers. Not the best vid I could find of it pulling. I like that fact he drives it there pulls in two classes and drives it home.

Thanks for the reply, bluedieselram. Just wondering with the low gears as I have 4.11's in my Ford now and I want to go with a second gen 12 valve. Those are pretty good mileage figures you've got there. Never used that Zmax. Works though, huh?

Rustin and 1ATony, thanks for the welcome guys.

To everyone that's welcomed me here, Have a Great Christmas and A Happy New Year.

I just used a coworker's log on and was able to watch the video. Nice looking F series there. What year truck? Thanks for sending the vid. Looks like a solid axle (F350). What year Cummins does he have in there? Running a manual I assume? That's awesome dude. I'd love to see my blue beast blowing black smoke like that and having that diesel sound. I also can't wait to show all the doubters :moon:what a little determination and work can achieve because they don't know that Trucks are bought THEN Built for some people...like us BOMBers:tu:, Baby!:yeah:
