Hi there
Hey there,
My name is Steve and I live in Boise with my wife, two kids, and 2 dogs. I bought a 1998.5 Dodge 24v Cummins stocker about a year ago. It has 50k original miles and has been a great truck for me and my wife hauling our travel trailer all over the Great Basin area. My wife put 10k miles on our trailer last year alone following me around the west because I am a smokejumper for the BLM here in Boise. Traveling 7 months a year its nice to have a home that is on wheels!
When I first bought the truck I had done some research and initially had a raptor 150 pump installed to mitigate the lift pump issue. I am going to be installing a BHAF, Edge J/A, and some sticks in the next week or so. I have been trying to do some research on the cumminsforum which led me to this site. My irrational goal is to get 500 hponys but I am well aware of the costs associated with this. My main problem atm is the stock tranny in my truck. I am in the market for a tranny but mine seems fine with on 50k miles. I understand that it will fail eventually so I am looking for a local shop to lead me in the right direction or gp the other avenue of a DTT or Goerend. Anyway nice to see a local interest and I am looking forward to talking with you all. Steve
