New to the site
Hey all, I am new to this site, and more so to diesels. I recently purchased a 2000 Ford F-350 drw with a 7.3 Powerstroke. I have always been into cars, trucks, anything with a motor etc. but had never owned a diesel so obviously that was the next step. I happened to come across a truck parked at a storage facility, and I noticed it never moved, so I contacted the owner and worked my way into buying it from him for next to nothing. He informed me that it was an old work truck that he had no use for due to downsizing his company so didn't dig into why he would just let it sit like he had so I don't have all the details on it. Nonetheless, after a little tinkering and a little help from a few friends that were experienced with diesels, we got it running and drove it off the lot. After making sure all fluids were changed and at proper levels the truck seemed to run fine for any truck after sitting for about a year and a half, so I had planned on taking it to a mechanic to get it all checked out. That is about where I stand. Hopefully it will turn out to be a great work truck and something that I can depend on. I love doing small stuff with it but at the same time am very cautious with what I do to it being as I have never had any real experience with any mechanical work on a diesel.
