Default Exhaust Question

Right now i'm runin factory exhaust with a 3inch muffler delete. It sounds good but thinkin bout getting a system with a muffler but not get too quiet. I'm wantin to build the truck up to make around 400hp an not get the egt's too hot. What be a good system.

a good 4" system such as mbrp or magnaflow would work. i deleted my 4" muffler from my magnaflow system for some extra sound, byt with the muffler it isn't much louder than stock, but the turbo whistle is louder

Get a good 4" or 5" turbo back kit.

I was considerin getting duals. I'd like to get a system that comes out more behind the the tires unlike most i've seen that come out at the bumper corners. Or an AFE single.

It really depends on the style and look you like. I prefer the look of a nice single with a 6" SS Tip.

IMO I would go with a 4'' if only going 400 range if decide too. 5'' sounds impressive but really does not benefit you if any thing give you turbo lag. I'd go with a stainless if going to invest. Magnaflow's 4'' can be bought for only $360 area might as well buy to last vs saving maybe $80 on aluminum.

I'm definatly gettin stainless. Just most people I talk to says a system with a muffler is a lot quieter. I don't wanna lose a lot of sound but on a long trip not get annoying as well. Would there be any sound or performace difference from the factory exhaust 3.5inch with a muffler delete to a 4inch straight pipe?

The 4'' straight is going to be a little louder tell you the truth from the 3.5 factory once straight piped it really does not sound much more agrressive or louder no matter what route you go. Just type in you tube exhaust video's with bigger exhaust and I bet if I made one off my 3.5 straight pipe exhaust it don't sound that much different. Don't get me wrong I'm still eventually going to upgrade.
