Maybe that's y the last pmd went, i didn't have a resistor in it..i know it was very hot. I got a new one on the way with #9 resistor, and used pmd under warranty. With those pmd's i think you should have a spare one at all times.

you definenetly need a spare at all times. im no electrican but im pretty sure a resistor turns down the electricity going through the pmd. less electricity means less heat. i guess you found another way how to fry a pmd

you learn something everyday

Prolly so... But, your still stuck with a used PMD, even if it is under warranty, it will last just long enough, then crap out. When it does just buy a new one, save tons of headaches'...

Yeah I'm getting a new one, I'll have the used one as a spare.

Put on the new pmd with a #9 resistor..had too open 4 injectors on the drivers side too let the air out, once i got the air out it fired right up. So i decided to take it for a test drive and didn't make it across the parking lot when the brake line started too leak.. man i don't know, it just seems too be one problem after another. Now i got too replace all the brake lines..they look pretty rusty..just glad it let go here and not on the highway..should i use stainless lines or just go with the regular lines.

stainless steel wont rust but its more expensive. the regular lines lasted you 11 years so unless you figure on keeping the truck another 11 years i would get the regular ones

Well guys i think i got more problems then just a pmd, quit again on me.. when a pmd fails do you get air in the fuel system? I checked the fuel bleeder on the filter and all kinds off air coming out, i must have a broken line some where.. and i also noticed that my fuel tank looks kinda damp from diesel fuel.. are the lines on the top off the tank known for breaking? Going too take the tank out tomorrow, are there anything i should know before i tackle this.

Got the old girl running like a champ now. The sending unit on the fuel tank had pin holes in it..so i got that rebuilt, put on all new brake lines..and a complete new brake job.. now for the pmd, it runs cool as anything in the front bumper between the nostrils. I'm starting too get some confidence back in the truck after driving around with it for the last few days..it feels good..knock on wood, hope she stays together now for a while. Thanks for all your help guys.

they are very reliable after you get the major things fixed and everything else that is broken on the truck. thats one of the reasons why i like it.
