Any easy solution for hot wiring the Lp. I had alittle hard time holding the 12v wires to it in the freezing cold. Where can I find some connector that I can attach wires to from the batt and plug it kn the Lp connector plug?
Also looking for the fuel pump relay Any diagram or link?. ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Any connector I can use to plug into the Lp when hotwiring Lp to battery? Too cold to hold. Also where can I find fuel pump relay on the 93 6.5? Thanks. |
The relay on my 92 is on the passenger side firewall just under the hood. Not sure if its the same on a 93.
I recommend searching this site for info about your LP and OPS if your having power issues to the LP. You will find alot of good info on how it works and how to do a permanent fix. As for your jumper wire. Id leave the LP plugged in and strip a little coating off the power wire to tie into. If you run your jumper from the radio fuse you can get or cut power by turning the key on and off. |
It is easier still to apply 12v to the ALDL pin G to power the LP for testing purposes.
Google also has everything you are looking for. |
Racer55 im a newbie. ALDL? Pls let me know what that means. I am just using 12v batt, 2 wires and aligator clips holding to batt.
Not to sure how to keep wires in lp connectors without them falling back off. |
1994 6.5
I am looking at buying a 1994 6.5 with 245,000 km, and was wondering if that year they had the mechanical injection pump. And what else should I look out for on it?

Here is a picture of the ALDL-1 port And the location of the G terminal and 1993 was last year for mechanical injection

So just run 12v there and pump will run?
Thanks a bunch. |

Hey guys, I hope someone can respond asap.
I did add new diesel to the truck and connect the hot wire to the pin G and like you guys said it ran the pump. On the outline side of pump going toward the engine line had a patch up witha hose. I undid it and ran the pump it made a constant small hammering noise but no fuel was being pumped out. I then unscrewed the inline to the pump and removed it. Small flow of fuel was comming out of the line from the tank. I just propped it up with the 19" stubby wrench and it stopped. What should I do? How can I test the pump because it makes noise. Man no funds right now to buy a new pump. If I could borrow it I would. Maybe this is the root of my problem. Pls give advise. Thanks. |
You really need the lift pump operational.
Get an AC Delco for a 93 6.5 if you want to stick with direct replacement-they are the best available for that option. AC Delco: EP309 DELPHI Part # HFP905 These pumps can stop pumping fuel but still make noise-also don't buy a parts store LP because you are low on funds, often GM is the same or better price and is way more reliable. |
