under the insulation also?

man i had the exact same issue. i just bought the truck and same thing haha. read over this page www.AccurateDiesel.com - PMD Installation Instructions - Accurate Technical Services, LLC . go to the shop and get a new PMD. the electronic box is all you need. if its not that, it might be the solonoid in the fuel pump which costs some bucks for a truck you just bought :argh:

Have you checked the quality of the cable and connections from the battery to the underhooh fusebox?

It doesn't make any sense to me
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- And I do have good connection on my batteries |
Ok well we'll I had found out sometime down the line someone had cut the 2 wires going to the alternator wires do I hooked them back up and it's fine . So yah I drove the truck about 800 kms while duck hunting and she never skipped a beat , just one more thing i don't have much glow coming from my glow plugs , I replaced all of them and it didn't change at all , I changed my solinoid and still no change , all of the glow plugs have glow just not much glow only 1/4 of the plug and a code is popping up , glow plug solinoid circuit "a"
|
What brand of glows did you use?
Is the glow relay fastened snug and grounded well through the base? Also there are 2 different glow relays available-they are not interchangeable so make certain it has the proper 1. |
Umm they where the basic model ones from napa and The relay was an ac delco one as well , it is working but I am not getting as much glow as I should, the grounds are all tight as well
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- I changed the solinoid to a brand new one and it made the same sound as my old one and the same code came up as the old one so I put my old one back on , it had about 6 sec of glow then shuts off for 1 sec then starts for one sec and it does this about 3 times . I mean t will start but not the way it should |
Bosch Duratherm are best followed by AC Delco 60g's,supoosedly the diesel rx glows are ok now to but not sure?
No idea what glow plug solenoid circuit "a" code is -don't exist? I expect you mean the glow relay and the code for it is: P0380 Glow Plug Circuit Performance You do know that you are supposed to start the engine as soon as the glow light goes out the first time right? The extra glow lights are called afterglow and are meant to happen once the engine is already running. If you wait for the glow light to stop blinking the glows will already be cooled off too much to help. The ECM decides how long the glows stay lit the first time based on coolant temp,if your CTS in the water crossover is faulty it will affect glow and many other variables when the engine runs. AC Delco ONLY for CTS. |
Yes I have the 60g ones by ac delco, and yes that is the code I have to look at it again but there was something about circuit "a" in there , and yes I know to start the truck right after the glow plug shuts off lol . And the truck starts up like a champ when it is plugged in .

As long as you start after the first glow cycle-not everyone knows that.
Check voltage when glowing on the glow side of the relay-high resistance will cause low volts to the glows. |
