I'd think the V10 in the F150 would scoot pretty good. Who cares about mileage, obviously if the guy is asking about shoe-horning a V10 into a 1/2 ton... he probably doesn't care.
As for the trans bolting up, not sure on that one, but I can't imagine finding a manual to bolt up to it would be very hard. You'd be farther ahead finding something that didn't need an adapter plate, that's for sure. I think destroked sells adapters for about $700-$900 for most engine/trans combos. I'd imagine there are plenty of work trucks out there that had the V10 and a manual behind it though. That sure would be cool. Though you'd probably be miles ahead just getting another 302 to stuff in there. Either way, your call and let us know how you make out!

Ok, I've yet to find a Triton V10 that I was impressed with in the power department... I still haven't played with the dodge V10.
