But runing on a tread mill you legs are creating the "push" or trust.... On a plane the wheels free spin and the engines give the "push" or thrust. If a plane was proprlled on the ground by its wheels then no it would not work.

For example... If th plan needed 100mph of air speed to take off... It would power up and move down then runway like normal until it got to 100mph and lifted off... the wheels would be spinung at 200mph because the treadmill would be going in reverse at 100mph but that does not matter. It would be like you putting a model car on a tread mill and pushing it forward. the car might move forward at 5 mph but the wheels would be going at 10mph if the tread mill was set to 5mph. The wheels do not provide the thrust.

but you see...the thrust of the plane pushes the wheels forward right? Well the treadmill keeps the wheels from rolling forward. And it's not the thrust of the jet engines that gets the plane off the ground, all the thrust does is push the plane forward fast enough to get the airflow over the wings to provide lift off. So, case in point, you're wrong bobby, it won't fly.

and I will take your money too bobby

How does the the treadmill keep the wheels from rolling forward? The wheels are free spinning. If it was a car or truck then no. it would not move. And you are correct the thrust does not give lift... it causes the plane to move and create lift.

well the wheels move forward at five miles per hour, while the treadmill goes backward to negate the five miles per hour of forward travel.
