Default Well... that will do it....

So I had the boat out the other day and after idling for a few min I gave her the beans, she popped right up on plane... Then fell on her face, a few attempts netted the same results. Cut it off, changed the filter and same results... Cut it off, drank a cold beer, fired it up and she ran like a champ again. It was obviously a fuel delivery problem and since the carbs have been recently rebuilt we decided that it was either air getting in the system or the fuel pump. So being as it needed to be rebuilt anyway (preventative maintenance if nothing else) I went by dads shop and pulled a fuel pump rebuild kit off the shelf and dug into it.... Well heres the problem...

That's the lining from the fuel hose breaking down. I think it would cause some fuel delivery problems.

Now I have to pull all the hose form the tank to the motor.

Here's the boat...

Negative, while ethanol is the worst thing to happen to boats (and the best thing to happen to boat mechanics) that is just simply the hose breaking down....

oh yeah it will destroy stuff. This boat does not have ethanol gas in it though. Mercury had a bad run of hose for a little bit.

They are fun, and require little work if you maintain them. I spend far less on my boat then my truck.
