Or should i try to set it on fire being in the woods and all ??
Do the hornets have a white head? If they do, they're the most aggressive hornet there is. I work as an exterminator and have been stung in the face from 30' away while looking at what I needed to do to take it down. Best time is at night when they should all be in the nest. Use a plastic bag, a large one so that you won't have to disturb the nest so much when slipping it over the nest. You could also try, at night only " hornet spray," the kind that shoots a stream. Good Luck......

This past summer I witnessed small children getting attacked by hornets it was like a horror movie! Not to mention running to their aid wasn't a day in the park either! One good thing with winter coming and cold temps hornets, wasps etc will die off
