Yeah, down in Florida it's hot in the summers and long leather suits just won't cut it... I don't weld everyday nor for hours at a time, so the sleeves can stay in the closet... I wear shorts and a t-shirt during the summer and your lucky to find me in anything but flip-flops usually, but when i do weld, i usually put on some old jeans and my boots (still just a t-shirt)...

I do, however, understand and agree with safety precautions - afterall they are there for a reason and most of all for your health... The most important thing to remember is that, in America we have this luxury called FREEDOM and if you want to suit up to tack together your garden rake, then by gosh, do it and I will not say a word to you... If you want to weld naked, by gosh do it, but don't expect me to watch you ...

 

clean the metal good,dont forget to turn on gas since your doing MIG,dont bother with an auto darkening hood they cost a few hundred bucks,never have any frays or tears in your clothers unless you wanna catch on fire like i have,the volt & wire speed seatings on the machine are more like guidlines you can change them to macth how ya weld to make it more comfortable,find the most comfortable postion to weld in before ya weld so ya dont have to stop & move then start welding again keep the wire feeder as start as possible & have fun with it
