First day of school

First day of school
So my daughter starts school on monday and truthfully I think im gonna go into depression . I cried when I registered her, cried when she got her shots and know im going to be a nervous wreck at work on Monday. See I'm use to being with her all day I work at a church that is also a prep school and a day care that she attends so I get to see her about every hour or so, so I think it will be even worse not getting to see her.
Now the schools here dont let you go into the classroom on the first day of school they basically want you to pull up kick the kid out the door and leave. So what did some of you do to keep your mind off of it or ease your fears, or is there anything you really can do other than get over it. I think I might be doing alot of this over the weekend

Mine just started her senior year, but I still remember getting blearey eyed when she got on the school bus for the first time. Just look at it from her point of view, what a great adventure she's starting! Be proud of her and hug the stuffing out of her when she gets home! It will be all good when she tells you how special her day was!

I feel the same way. I went last year to see about the head start program they have, I was in line about 5-10 min and most of the kids there were BAD some cussing, talking back to their parents and the one that made me leave was a little girl stole her grandmaws cane and was running up and down the hallway beating it on the wall while grandmaw limped behind her trying to get it back.

I must be the odd ball here. I loved havin the kid with me through the summer, he spent every minute with me that I wasn't at work from the time he was about 5 years old and could help out with barn stuff until he turned 16 but come time for school to start it was a nice break. Just for that few hours and then he was back again. He's 3 states away in college now and I do miss havin him around now though.

When my friend's son started kindergarden, she was an absolute wreck. We got him on the bus, and then followed it for the entire route. Making sure to stay far enough behind that we wouldn't be noticed. We sat in the parking lot of the school (with about 20 other parents) and waited for him to go in. I guess seeing that her son had actually survived the bus ride and made it into the building safely helped her out a lot. She was ok from then on.

loosen up them apron strings mom, and be tough, shes trying to grow up - feel proud of every new accomplishment she makes - like this one....just pay attention cause it seems like they grow up overnight.
Before you know it you will be worried about her first date!
