N-14 electric problems
I've got a Kenworth with an N-14 that will turn over but won't start. I tried to hook up to it with Insight but it won't connect to the engine controller. The p/o told me that it's had a history of electrical problems, but he couldn't elaborate. The driver told me that sometimes it would die when he hit a bump (he told me this a week afterwords). I found a bunch of loose wires in one of the CAN connectors, I fixed that and didn't come up with anything else. I haven't had much of a chance to fool with it lately. I found and old Cummins fold-out for the QSK series engines that shows the engine electrical break-out. I think that the QSK's and the N14 both use a CM500 conrtoller, so would the electrical inputs be the same on both? I just need something to guide me, assuming it is an electrical problem.

My N-14 2001 Volvo died one day when I was pulling out, and I had it towed in. The shop said it would not connect to Insight I had to replace the ECU @ $4000 Hope you have better luck.

P.S. It did odd things leading up to the time it died. The cruse control would only work untill it got warmed up then it would just quit, but it ran good.
