Intake Failure *Caution*
#14
I don't believe that intake horn was designed for boost much/if any over stock values. When it came onto the market it had no ports for anything, I don't know if that has changed over time since I had no interest in it.
Anyone doing mods who is in their right mind thinking about power increases would not replace a stock 'metal' intake horn with plastic. Most all know that the plastic factory intercooler hose is an issue to a stock truck over time, let alone adding more plastic??
Regardless, this is a very dangerous proposition under pressure, glad no one got hurt. It may be that the hood needs kept closed when dyno-ing with this thing on. Maybe the dyno guys will just refuse to do the trucks with these??

I agree, the only time this would be an issue with safety is on a dyno with the hood open, with the hood closed it would scare the poop out of you that's about it. LOL
