Default BD Wastegate Actuator

Hey Dave. Can you tell me anything about this wastegate acuator that your company offers. Would it do anything for the stock turbo set up or is it designed for particular applications. I'm to broke for a new turbo but I'm tryin to find anything I can to make the most of the stocker I have.

I see you have a performance elbow installed, is your stock wastegate still opening with the performance elbow installed?

The BD adjustable wastegate actuator allows you to tighten the wastegate and prevent it from opening. They work a little better than the performance elbows and prevent wastegate creep but do not expect big gains if you are already running the performance elbow.

How much boost are you making?

I back out of the pedal around 30-35psi, I'm chicken so I don't how much it would actually make if I stayed in it.

Sounds like you are okay with the boost you are making, you will not need the adjustable wastegate, save your pennies for the new Super B Turbo that comes with the adjustable wastegate.

Your stock turbo is good to about 35 PSI, don't worry about the head gaskets, they are good to 50PSI.

I got the new boots ordered already then I'll feel a little safer. The Super B is in the future just don't know how far out yet. Thanks for the info.

I have a question concerning the install of my waste gate, in the process of removing the old waste gate, I failed to notice the position of the arm that the waste gate attaches to. I installed it with the arm pointing up towards the exhaust manifold. Is this correct?

I am also having a conflict issue with the boost fooller and my Diablo Power Puck, but that is most likely a defect with the power puck, and the supplier I deal with here in Calgary has ordered me another one to test.

What type of gains should I expect (ball park) with the boost fooller and the adjustable waste gate set to factory 30lbs. ?

Any info is much appreciated

I will double check mine but am pretty sure it would not install the wrong way, if it was staying open you would know right away, black smoke, heat and no power. I am pretty sure that Power Puck has a Map Sensor Plug already on it? In that case you would not need a boost fooler and may be your problem, not the power puck. Try installing the Puck with out the fooler and see if the issues go away.

Gains will vary but I would expect to see about 5-8 PSI more boost with your set up.

Originally I didn't have the boost fooller, and the truck was throwing over boost codes with just the power puck, so thus the reason I bought the boost fooller. Upon further research I found that the upper level power puck (think its the extreme) has the fooler built into it.
The power puck that I have does plug into the fuel pressure sensor as well as map sensor.

Default Waste gate operation

Hi I'm waiting on my new killer b turbo and was wondering how the waste gate works. If set at 40 lbs of boost. Does it by pass all the exhaust flow over 40lbs boost. And not allow the turbo to produce any more boost. Or with heavy fueling will the boost continue to rise. I will have a edge juice with attitude and 150 hp injectors in the vehicle.
Thanks kris

The wastegate will be set around 35 psi, if you have the fuel to build more you can adjust the wastegate to hold higher boost.
