Default Oil Analysis Results

Just thought I would share for anyone who likes to look at numbers. My truck had 291,232 miles when I took the sample. I use AMSOIL 15W-40, the EaO filter and have the BMK-11 bypass kit. There was 11,232 miles on this oil and it had been one year since last changed.
All marks were within range except for silicone. I think this may have come from me changing that 4 inch "rubber" hose on the turbo oil return line. I used a silicone sealer and some was surely exposed to the oil. Will know the next time.
One other thing to point out is the kimetic viscosity which came back as 14.63. The 15W-40 oil out of the bottle is 14.4 and the range for a 40 weight oil is 12.5-16.3. Shows the ability to maintain correct viscosity over time.

My first OA on this truck and am very happy with results esp. with the age of the truck.

I use Blackstone Labs and there sample kits are free - request them online - and there standard test is 25 bucks...it just went up from 20 bucks. They give you all these numbers and summarize what they mean for you and they will reccommend if you can get more life out of your oil or change it more often.

I also use them, if you order 6 at a time it is $17 each including shipping. The TBN is $10 per test, but you do not need that every time.
