Its not real bad if you have two people and a lift. Its about a 4 hour job to do the tank mod and install the new LP.

Put the truck up on blocks and get it off the ground. Use a floor jack with two boards bolted to it so that you can slide the jack back and forth while loosening the clamps.

droppin a tank aint that bad

first of all get yer fuel level down to like 1/8th tank

totally disconnect fuel lines and electrical connections

use the floor jack and a couple boards ....I used just the floor jack and one leg for balance

remove the 2 tank clamps

lower it then scoot it off the jact to the ground
.................................................. .......................

another option thats not bad is to lift the bed

totallt remove the bed bolts on the drivers side
loosen bots on passenger side
remove fuel fill up hose
lift bed by haqnd and jam a 2x4 in there to keep it propped up

aint that bad really

Also, tie your filler and vent hose back. It is a SOB trying to drop the tank and hold those back at the same time.

What? A Dodge on blocks? Isn't that what Fords are for?

If u have a couple fellas to help ya just take the bed off,That way when u install the new pickup tube it will stay right where u cut it, meanin that when u drop the tank the bottom of it can push up alittle when sitting on the floor or a jack and when u cut the pickup tube to lenght and go to mount it back up the bottom of the tank will then bow back out, then u have a larger gap between the pickup tube and the bottom of the tank then what u started with. This should help the 1/4 tank problem! But i didnt think the 100 required u to put a new pickup tube in.

I don't know, that's why I'm asking... If I don't need to install a new pickup tube, what do I have to do to bypass the LP? If I don't have to fiddle with tank or bed, I would rather not...

You will need to either drop the tank or lift the bed just to get to the connections on top of the tank anyway. Although I've heard some people just loosen the tank strap bolts enough to drop it down a few inches so they can get their hands up there and undo the fittings.
I don't think that would work for me though--I've hands like a 1st baseman's glove.

I will be installing my AD 100 when I get home. I just haven't figured out wether to drop the tank or lift the bed. I think lifting the bed on a LB dually would be harder than the SRW megacab beds

From what I've read, the AD can draw through the in tank pump, so I don't think you need to install a draw straw. The 150 requires a draw straw since the stock pick up in the tank is too small.
