Default Bought an S300

I just bought an S300 off my buddy for $250. It came off a 3116 Cat, it spins freely and has basically no shaft play. There is only two things that kinda other me.

1. There is a little piece of the compressor wheel broke off. one of the fins has a corner broke off but all the rest look fine.

2. The waste gate is stuck. i think its stuck closed because the truck he pulled it off of was sitting in a junk yard.

Also, would anybody know the specs on it? (**/**/**) and do you guys think it would be a good turbo?

my neighbor told me that my motor wont push enough oil pressure to lube this thing properly. is that true??

guys are pushing enough oil for twins around here so i'd say you definitely have enough oil pressure for that single

S300's are a pretty common turbo upgrade from what i've seen. since you picked the turbo up for only 250 bucks i'd look into getting a new compressor wheel and doing the job right. even a little bit of an imbalance can cause excessive wear or catastrophic failure due to a weakened/cracked fin, oiling shouldnt be an issue. take the wastegate actuator loose and see if the rod moves freely, if not lots of PB blaster and some emory cloth on the rod will do wonders, nice find

Depending on the CPL of the engine (or whatever Cat uses), the geometry of the turbo might be perfect or unusable.

I've seen a chunk of one corner of the wheel missing before... Are we sure that's not a balancing notch?

Oil pressure is no problem at all.

i'll get some measurements, but its got T3 exhaust flange, and it looks a little tighter than the H1C.

doesnt look too bad to spool, most of the exhaust housing size can be attributed to the wastegate
