12mm A1 studs are not $700! More like $400~$500. Comparable to the same ARPs.

It's my opinion that both ARP and A1 make an excellent product. They both are made from comparable alloys (no magic for either).

If both products cost approximately $450, and the ARPs require an additional $80 for milling the pedestals, my cheap hiney went with the A1s simply because with the completion of the installation, they cost less.

I've run many 1/8 & 1/4 mile passes with well over 70psig boost having no issues.

from the haisley site

RECOMMENDED FOR APPLICATIONS OF 80 PSI BOOST AND UNDER WITH SINGLE CHARGER AND NO DRUGS.

THE HEAD BOLT HOLES IN THE CUMMINS BLOCKS ARE NOT TAPPED TO THE BOTTOM. WE HAVE DESIGNED THESE STUDS WITH MORE THREADS FOR LESS STRESS TO THE BLOCK AS WELL AS THE STUD. YOU WILL NEED A 12MM X 1.75 BOTTOMING TAP. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE, WE HAVE THEM FOR SALE.

looks like i will probably be going with the A1's then. how hard is it to bottom tap the block? is it pretty simple, or is it a pain trying to spin those threads
