nother breif question for this build guys. Since I am pulling the non ic head and swapping in an ic head, would it be worth it to have the head oringed or fire ringed before we bolt it on?

Any input is appreciated, just trying to get a better understanding on this.
I doubt it. Just kinda a small turbo to be running on teh bottom of a set of twins... Also the exhaust housing will be way to small.

yes, if your running twins it almost manditory. Just get it o-ringed. Also get some studs for it.

Yeah studs were already on the list. Think what we will do right now is run the 66 as a single with some 6 x 16's from Weston. I am not trying to be hard headed, just trying to figure out some things. Would the he 351 take away from the 66 on the big end or would it just choke it down all together?

Your probably right. I think I will be alright with the single with enough fuel and the manual tranny. Thanks.

I think it will still be laggy but you never know. You need to remember that VE' make power down much lower then P-pumps. Thw truck will pull good when its lit but your most likly gonna lose alot of bottom end. Only one way to find out!!!

Worst case, it runs like **** and you find someone to swap you straight up for a 62 or 64!

Yeah, that is what I told him this afternoon. Only give 1K for it so should be able to get his money back too. Also been talking to him about possible head work and or cam also. He doesn't mind spending some $$ on some good performance so I told him I would check on a complete prepped head and cam package. Maybe something like a pullers setup??? I think out setup would closely resemble a pullers setup wouldn't u think? He would rather go ahead and get a complete head rather than send off the ic head that we are planning to use. Do u got any suggestions on who to go through for a prepped head and cam package.

Thanks for all the advice on this guys, we changed directions on this tahoe with a '98 model p-pump engine. Found a good deal on a first gen with a p-pump motor. Head ported and o-ringed, DDP4 sticks, pump rebuilt and 4K spring, 60# valve springs and came with a ps62 and a ps64! Airdog and head studs also. He is probably gonna run the 66 for a while and play with the pump. Just ordered a sbc 13" upgrade and flywheel for the nv4500 also.

All the advice won't go wasted cause I am gonna use the non-ic ve motor in my '85 c-10 chevy along with the getrag and np205 that came with his donor truck. I also got a set of chevy 1 tons and all the factory hangers to hang springs under it. Here is a pic of the tahoe were we are now. Still gotta mount up the chevy alt and ac comp with the auto world brackets and put the clutch and tranny on the back of it before we set it in place. Still gotta dial in the coilovers some as the whole truck is sitting a little higher than we want. The 54" boggers are just rollarounds, gotta order the 18.4 x 26 tractors tires!
