Sort of. I got the idea working on a friends Camaro. I liked the torque arm. Looked like a neat way to do it. And all my toys were sleepers, I didnt want slappers or caltracks showing. I didnt do it for ground clearance, I did it to hide things. When I did one on a crawler, I ran heims with high mis-alignment spacers in place of the shackle to allow for more flex. Then I learned how easy it is to do a triangulated 3 link, and that tj springs are cheap.

No, afraid not. Custom fabrication is a difficult, time-consuming effort that always seems to take twice or three times longer to accomplish than I originally plan. The install on these is kinda difficult because like I said, it involves some grinding and metallic persuasion to get the bell cranks with their bushings installed on the spring eye bolts. Not exactly straightforward by any means.

I just post my projects in various forums like this to share my ideas with others who might be looking at doing something similar.

Default Update

These are finally finished now after the original prototype revealed a few details needing adjustment and I got some time to add the finishing touches. The bellcranks ended up being about three inches longer to get the angles just right. They also have grease zerks for the spring eye bushings and lower fulcrum as well as a rubber isolator for the top bolt to eliminate rattles and clunks when it comes in contact with the springs over low speed bumps, etc. The axle mounts now have dustcover/grease boots protecting the heims.
